Do you vaccinate your kids yearly until they’re 65? Why do we vaccinate our pets so much?

Natural Pet does not believe in automatically vaccinating dogs and cats without first seeing if their bodies require additional vaccine. By measuring how much vaccine is in your pet’s bloodstream (titer levels) we can determine if your pet does or does not need a booster shot. Because so many diseases have been linked to over-vaccination (auto-immune disease, organ failure and cancer, to name a few) we strongly recommend finding out if your pet needs the vaccines before automatically giving them. Pets, like kids, require a series of “baby” shots when they are young that usually protect them for life. Because a single blood test measures how much vaccine is in the system at one point in time, we recommend titering two years in a row and comparing the two titers to determine how quickly the vaccine blood levels are diminishing, if at all.  It is very rare that animals vaccinated as youngsters require additional vaccinations as adults. Should vaccine blood levels be low, we strongly recommend boosting for the specific virus that titered low. We do not use or recommend combination vaccines (6-8 “booster” viruses in one syringe) which is the typical yearly shot. You may also choose to boost your pet naturally with homeopathic nosodes.

Rabies vaccine is required by law. Because the 3 year and 1 year rabies vaccine are identical, we recommend your pets only have the 3 year product to avoid unnecessary repetition.
