Learning and Applying a Systemic Approach to Wellbeing

We’ve been learning about health for our animals from Dr. Becker for years now. We often say that we treat our animals better than we treat ourselves. This is likely to be true!

Thinking and living holistically takes knowledge, practice, and understanding, whether the topic is food, the environment, emotional well-being, or any of the other facets of living. We tend to look at the problems or the symptoms, looking for a “fix”, instead of asking ourselves “why is that?”, so that we can get at the roots of the problem.

We’ve got a lot of “-itis” type thinking (“I’ve got arthritis!”). Though we have been learning a different approach to health for our dogs and cats, we often accept chronic disease for ourselves as if it’s our fate to be not quite healthy

We’ll identify roadblocks to health, and develop a better understanding of the inter-relatedness of the systems that make up the body.

Our health and wellbeing is as important as that of our animals – as Karen says, let’s not just survive,

let’s THRIVE!

CANCER....

Cancer is a big concern for us in the lives of our canine and feline companions.

Prevention, treatment, varieties of problems: it’s a vast topic. Our goal is to provide basic understanding of what’s going wrong, what the current knowledge is about how to best help the body to heal, and how to prevent cancer from occurring.

Though you may not have an immediate need to know about this topic, you can be prepared to help your own family and friends should they have a need for the information.
